Designed under Yoshiyuki Miyamae for Spring/Summer 2013, this semi-sheer duster coat captures Issey Miyake’s mastery of engineered textiles and shadow-play. The coat is crafted from a gossamer black pleated organza base overlaid with a cut-velvet burnout (devoré) abstract geometric pattern. Designed with a draped shawl funnel neckline and an elongated button-front closure, the piece releases from razor-sharp vertical plissé pleats through the torso into an ethereal, airy A-line skirt hem.
